Gnam was in clear conflict. Those within the organization who are aware of his position would have revered him as a senior Watchtower official - not just a Lawyer familiar with cases. Gnam is, in fact, an advocate for Watchtower policies both in his personal and professional lives. Any member would literally hang on his every word. He would be unable to provide legal counsel to support his client's self-preservation. As a minor, a right to self preservation cannot be waived as it can by an adult.

The conflict would be clear to anyone who reviewed Gnam's position within the Watchtower Society's organizational structure. More research should be done in this case and appropriate sanctions applied to Gnam for unethical behaviour. This would be a deterrent for future cases involving minors where believing parents secure Watchtower supplied counsel to resist the preservation of life through treatment involving blood.
