About Monique Passelac-Ross

M. Env. Des. (Calgary), LL.M. (Montreal), LL.B. (Toulouse, France). She joined the Canadian Institute of Resources Law (CIRL) as a Research Associate in 1989. Her research interests are in the area of forestry law, natural resources law and policy, Aboriginal law and environmental law, with a focus on the interface between Aboriginal rights and human rights and resource development. She has published several articles on the Crown’s duty to consult and accommodate and its application in the Alberta context, notably in the context of oil and gas and oil sands development. Her current research is on Aboriginal rights to water.
