About Katherine MacKenzie

Katherine joined ALRI as Legal Research Associate in 2014 and began working as Legal Counsel in 2016. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Distinction) and a Juris Doctor (Distinction), both from the University of Alberta. Prior to joining ALRI, Katherine practiced family law at a boutique firm in Edmonton. She has also worked with the Alberta Court of Appeal and the Legislative Reform Department of Alberta Justice. In these respective roles, she provided legal research and support to members of the judiciary, and conducted background research on matters of legislative policy. Her recent law reform work includes contributions to projects in the areas of matrimonial property and posthumously conceived children.
